About Johan Magnus

Johan Magnus is a Swedish fashion photographer based in Montreal, working across North America and Europe. His work brings together a European sensibility with a cinematic approach to image-making, shaped by a longstanding interest in classical art, film, movement, and the human form.

Moving between fashion, portraiture, and editorial storytelling, Johan is drawn to images that hold a certain tension between stillness and movement, restraint and sensuality, strength and vulnerability. His approach is considered and intuitive, with an emphasis on atmosphere, gesture, and the presence of the person in front of the camera.

His work has appeared in Vogue Italia, Kaltblut, Vulkan Magazine, and several other publications, alongside commercial work and ongoing collaborations with designers, stylists, and artists.

Originally from Sweden and having lived and worked in Europe and Canada, Johan continues to develop his practice internationally, with a growing focus on projects across both continents.
